3-Day Imperial Cities to Chefchaouen

About this experience

Click Excursions runs this as a three-day loop that starts and ends in Marrakech. You leave at 7:00 AM, drive up the motorway to Casablanca, stop again in Rabat and reach Fes in the evening for the first riad night. Day 2 is a guided walk through the Fes medina with a local guide, then the drive into the Rif and a night in Chefchaouen. Day 3 starts in the blue lanes and ends with the long road back south.

The name oversells it a little. Casablanca is not one of Morocco's imperial cities, Meknes is not a stop, and Marrakech only counts because you start there. What you do get: the Hassan II Mosque, the Hassan Tower in Rabat, a proper morning in Fes with a guide and an evening and a morning in Chefchaouen. The listing gives Casablanca about four hours and Rabat about one.

The catch is the driving. Chefchaouen is about 560 km from Marrakech, and on day 3 you cover it in one go: one guest called it the 8 hour drive back. Lunch stops are at restaurants on the route, and a reviewer found two of them "overpriced and underwhelming". If you can add a day, the 4-day private tour spreads the same ground out. If you are not going back to Marrakech, a one-way route avoids the drive entirely.

What guests say

★★★★★

The tour was amazing! Seeing 4 amazing and unique cities at a go was outstanding. [...] The riads we stayed at in both Fez and C city were great with both dinner and breakfast provided.

★★★★★

We made frequent stops but not so many that made delays. The location stops were very informative and did not feel rushed. [...] Riad accommodations were lovely and restaurant choices were very good.

Nicole_A · May 2026
★★★★★

This is the best short tour if you're interested in getting to see Chefchaouen and other notable sites around Morocco in a short time. [...] You will spend quite a bit of time on the road, but that's the only way to do it.

Michael_H · Oct 2025
★★★★★

Stops were enough to get good pictures, with a thorough tour in Fez & ample time to wander in Chefchouen.

Tips before you book

  • Bring cash in dirhams for lunches and the Hassan II Mosque. The mosque visit is guided only and costs 140 dirhams for foreign adults, per the mosque foundation's visit page.
  • Cover shoulders and knees on day 1. Shorts and sleeveless tops are refused at the mosque.
  • Pack light: the listing does not describe luggage space, so ask the operator before you bring a big suitcase.
  • Sit near the front if you get car sick. Day 3 is the hard one.
  • Answer the WhatsApp message the evening before: that's where the pickup time and place get fixed.
